Arjitha Utsavams

Following utsavams (or festivities or special worship) are performed at special request of devotees on days mutually convenient, on payment of donations to cover costs:

  1. Vivaha (Kalyana) Utsavam – Wedding festival of the Lord with His Consort
  2. Sri Sudarshana Homam - Homam invoking and worshipping Sri Sudarshanar for warding off evils and accomplishment of one’s cherished objectives.
  3. Thirumanjanams (or Abhishekams).
  4. Sahasranama or Ashtothra Archanas

Only food cooked in the Temple’s kitchen by specially appointed cooks can be offered to the deities. From outside devotees can bring only coconut and fruits, sugar-candy and dry fruits. However, devotees desirous of offering items of food may do so by arranging with the Temple authorities, choosing from a list of articles that can be prepared for the purpose, on payment at prescribed rates. The list is given separately in the Calendar (Panchangam), and is also exhibited in the Temple.

Sri balaji bhagavan is the most beloved deity in kaliyuga. Lakhs of devotees visit abode not only in tirupathi in the south but also in many cities wherever devotees have built up a mandir for him. At dombivli too, devotees experience his merciful presence in sri balaji mandir. Devotees come to him for redressal of their miseries, difficulties, etc., on various counts of illness, employment, marriage, children and the like and have experienced that their prayers for succour are fullied soon. They express their thankful gratitude by way of offerings to him.

One of the means of offerings is to offer something in kind equal to the devotee’s physical weight. In deference to the request of several devotees, sri balaji mandir has installed a weighing scale in the traditional way. Devotees may utilize this opportunity and make their offerings according to their choice, sri balaji mandir will issue receipt towards the same which may be please be obtained without fail.
