Dombivilli Ashramam
'Srirangam Srimath Andavan Ashramam’s Dombivli Branch, established in early 1980s with beautiful temple for Sri Padmavathy Thaayar Sametha Sri Srinivasa (Sri Balaji). The temple is popularly known as Paschim Tirupati'. The Sishyas requested for establishing an Ashramam at Mumbai. Under the Leadership of Late Sri V.K. Srinivasan, a 1474 sq. yards = 1232.44 sq. mtrs and Adjacent to this, ground admeasuring 862 sq. yards. = 720.74 sq. mtrs sq.ft. land was purchased by the Ashramam at Dombivli. A temple with main sanctum - Sannidhi for Sri Balaji and small Sannidhis (temples) for Sri Padmavathy Thaayar, Sri Andal (Godha Devi) Sri Anjaneyar Sri Paduka Sannidhi and Navagraham were consecrated with a Samprokshanam in January,1982. With active participation of various renowned personalities of Mumbai, Dombivli who were heading the Managing Committee, the temple developed to a great extent. Sri Mysore Andvan - Srimathe Sri Srinivasa Ramanuja Mahadesikan, who was the then Srikaryam of Thirukkudanthai Andavan was instrumental in getting the branch established and construction done. HE has written ‘Dombivli Srinivasa Panchasloki’ in praise of Sri Srinivasa - Sri Balaji of Dombivli. Sri Srimushnam Andavan - Sri Ranga Ramanuja Mahadesikan has a great passion for Dombivli Ashramam. As most of the construction were kutcha and so also the flooring, shades for the temple, etc. Vagaries of the weather - were causing inconvenience to devotees and kainkaryaparas (staff). Overwhelming support of patrons, devotees, sishyas, blessings and active participation and guidance of Prakritam Andavan, Sri Rangaramanuja Mahadesikan, enabled the overcoming of the hurdles and development of this Temple, which today is a wonderful solace for thousands of devotees who regularly visit it. Eminent religious leaders and heads of Mutts have visted the Temple. During the years that have since passed, additional Sannidhis (temples) for Sri Sudarshanar, Sri Yoga Nrisimhar, Sri Ramar and some of the eminent Srivaishnavite Acharyas with Sri Lakshmi Hayagrivar have been built, smooth flooring in and around the temples has been provided, a separate Kalyana Mandapam for the festivities of the Temple like Thirumanjanam, Thirukkalyanam, Veda/ Prabhandha Patanam and the like has been beautifully built, a Rajagopuram (main entrance) and a gigantic dwaja sthampam (flag mast) have been put up. Besides developing the main temple, facilities for its employees, facilities for devotees and their family functions like marriage, etc., as also for performance of srardh ceremony for their ancestors, etc., have also been added. Above all, a Goshaala for several cows has developed in the temple, which by itself is a very auspicious asset of the Temple. The year 2007 - 2008 all utsavams and functions were conducted as part of Silver Jubilee Year celebrations. The Silver Jubilee year culminated with a grand Brahmotsavam for Sri Balaji in March 2008.
